View Full Version : "Soft-eject" card reader doesn't work for me

I'm using the newest version of DLPro (1.81) which, BTW, I love, and I'm trying out the automation with the "soft-eject" card reader option, but it doesn't seem to be working. I assume this does the same thing as clicking the icon in Windows' notification area to be able to "safely remove" hardware without it squawking at you. I'm using a Viking Cardbus reader, which is pretty much a rebadge of the popular Delkin version.

Any ideas? Is this just a bug with my particular reader?

It may be a problem with the card reader or its drivers. DLPro v1.8.1 syncs the disk (so that any cached information is written back to the disk) and then unmounts it which should have the same effect as "ejecting" the disk using Windows Explorer. On my Windows XP system the volume name of the CF card is shown in Windows Explorer before ejecting using DLPro. After ejecting with DLPro the drive shows up as "Removable Disk (H:)" and the card can't be accessed until it is removed and reinserted.
