I have some Canon 5D ray files that were shot in Adobe RGB and they are way too contrasty in Breezebrowser. I understand that this is because of the Adobe RGB color space. But can I somehow convert the raw files to an sRGB color space before converting to jpg so that they look "normal" and similar to the other %d raw files that were shot in sRGB?

AdobeRGB files should look virtually identical to sRGB files if you enable BBPro's color management and use a suitable monitor color profile.
BBPro's raw converter supports sRGB or AdobeRGB raw conversion with 5D raw files (using the "Color space" setting).

I find Canon's default contrast setting way too high on the 5D and prefer to set it to -4 on my camera. The good thing about shooting raw is you can do things like setting the contrast to -4 and still have the option of setting it to a different value when converting the raw file.
