I'm considering upgrading to PSRemote 1.7, but I'd like to know what this means:

Adds custom layout option for photo booth shooting plus the ability to load and save the photobooth settings

How is this new custom layout option different?

It would really be best to just download it and try it out, but it is big difference.

Where as before you could define the number of columns and rows, whether or not to crop, and how big to make the borders between the photos, with the new custom layout, you can specify the size and location of each photo down to the pixel.

If you want pictures to be different sizes, that is now possible. If you want to arrange the photos in some way besides just straight columns and rows, you can do that now too.
