We are running the latest version of the software and noticed some inconsistancies in the background images when doing a double strip.

The process we go through to create the background is the same as it was for the old software. We take the fill size 1248 x 1848 and create a background.

Using the custom layout we check the double column. We found with the new software it appears to be taking half of the fullsize background image we created and repeating it in the second column instead of using the full image.

We came to that conclusion when we loaded a completed image in Photoshop and the right hand column was off center.

Are we doing something wrong? Please explain.

What it does is copy the left half of the image to the right side after laying out the page. However prints may not be perfectly centered with some printers which print borderless prints because the printed output isn't centered in the printable area i.e a 6"x4" printer might report a printable area of 6.1"x4.1" to ensure the prints are borderless even though the actual paper size is 6"x4".
For example I have a DNP DS40 dyesub printer which overprints by 1.5mm on the left side and 2.5mm on the right side. This means that the copy left side option will be off center by 0.5mm.

Chris thankyou for your reply. Is there a way to compensate for this?

There isn't much you can do about it with the custom layout if you want to create a double strip. You can compensate for it in the automatic layout by creating a left.jpg image.
