I am thinking of buying a rebel xs to use in our setup.
I read the threads about the use of the camera flash triggering an off camera flash unit with a optical slave. I read another post about the pre-flash firing the slave too soon. Does anyone know if this is a problem from experience before I buy a rebel xs? Or if that only happens with a ttl mode? I want to use the rebel xs with off camera flash unit. Chris said we can set the flash at 2 stops under to fire the optical slave. Just wondered if anyone is doing this currently?

I just used an XS in my new photobooth set up over the weekend. It worked REALLY well. I have decided on a constant soft florescent light source instead. My clients raved about the photo sharpness:) It seemed to take more time for the breezesys software to recognize the XS (as opposed to my 7D), but once locked in, it worked flawlessly. ...I used the stock 18-55mm lens...($399 refurb here: http://www.adorama.com/ICADRXSKBR.html?searchinfo=canon+xs)

What settings are you using for your xs? Are you useing a flash or a modling light? What ISO AV and TV and White settings in a dim room? I am all over the place with my settings

I was still wondering if anyone has goos settings for the canon XS I am useing a LED modling Light and it seems to be plenty without a flash ...Any Ideas to start at with the Canon XS?
