Well I didn't think they would last this long, but my trusty s5 died after 28,000 actuations, that's probably 50 years worth of normal consumer use, but in a photobooth these cameras die a short life being forced to take 500 photos per event.......be prepared.

So that's about 55 to 60 events . . . . . .only

I was hoping our cameras would last longer, but I always take a spare to each event and always replace after 1 year.

We use 550D/X4/T21 maybe these will last longer?

why would they last longer? if anything they should last shorter, they have more mechanical parts

I think you were unlucky. I have customers who use PowerShot cameras for time lapse shooting and have reported 300,000+ shots. PowerShot cameras have fewer moving parts and are probably more robust than DSLRs. I think Rebel series cameras are expected to have a shutter life of around 50,000 actuations.
