AF shutter error on Canon Rebel XS
Anyone have a AF shutter error message that interrupts their photobooth sequence. This was a show stopper and can't get to the bottom of this. is it mechanical failure, or does the metering mode somehow affect this? It occurs erratic, and is overcome only by clicking 'yes' on the dialog box, at which point the sequence needs to start again. Thinking of replacing camera asap. But is there something I am overlooking?

yep it is a known issue and easily duplicatible, just get right up close to the lens and it pukes on itself. the issue has to do with the fact that the cam wont focus in pb mode, but if you run the 4 shots outside of pb mode it does focus and there is no issue.

just set the lens on manual focus.
just set the lens on manual focus.
i do sometimes get that error even when the lens is MF mode, but it is rare and sporadic, never have been able to nail down what causes it.
