    Default "External flash mode" for using studio strobes with Canon DSLRs

    DSLR Remote Pro for Windows v2.2 has a new external flash mode to make it easier to use studio strobes with Canon Rebel series cameras and avoid having problems with the stobes not firing or the live view display being too dark.

    Does this eliminate the need to hack the hotshoe adapter and allow the on camera flash to remain in the down position.

    Yes. Basically what it does is automatically exit live view mode, take the picture and then restart live view.
