Photobooth using Webcam & Flashlites
hy chris !
would there be a way in implementing some sort of flash trigger while using a webcam ? i know, it doesn´t really make sense in technical terms regarding the amount of light. it is more about the exitement of having a flashlight when triggering the release.
could there be some sort of external hardware you could trigger (USB I/O interface) ? this would make it possible to release any sort of "excitement feature", wich could be the bench dropping by 2cm when the picture is taken or turn on a horn, stuff like that...
thx, chris

Webcam Photobooth can run an optional command or play a .wav sound file when each screen is displayed. The command can be a .bat batch file or a .exe executable and you could use this to control a relay or other hardware to trigger lights or other special effects.
The sound file could be used to play a silly sound e.g. a horn or klaxon.
Please see this page from the help file for more info (at the bottom of the page):

this could be good. I know there are some hardware controllers out there, they just need the in-between programming if the webcam software is capable of outputing a file to trigger an event..

I'm sorry these options and Webcam Photobooth are only available on Windows. You can run it on a Mac if you use bootcamp to run Windows or run Windows emulation using Parallels or VMWare.
